Yesterday we celebrated Earth day which is celebrated once a year on the 22nd of April, Earth day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.
Earth day 1970 gave voice an emerging consciousness, channelling the energy of the anti-war protest movement and putting environmental concerns on the front page. On April 22, 1970, 20 millions Americans took to the streets, parks and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment in massive coast to coast rallies. Thousands of college and university organised protests against the deterioration of the environment, groups that had been fighting against oil spills, polluting factories and power plants, raw sewage, toxic dumps, pesticides, freeways, the loss of wilderness, and the extinction of wildlife suddenly realised they shared common values. From that earth day was born and is celebrated to date.
Anne Hathaway has a new movie appropriately named The Hustle, this is a new comedy in women centric remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
MGM has released a new trailer for The Hustle, a comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson as scam artists teaming up to take revenge on men that would have wronged them. This film with Anne Hathaway is gender bent remake of the 1988’s Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Steve Martin and Michael Caine, itself a remake of the 1964 Marlon Brando and David Niven comedy Bedtime Story.
Anne Hathaway plays a posh English woman alongside Wilson’s raunchier, low class character, in classy buddy comedy fashion, plenty of hijinks ensue around the character’s differences, and the two women must gradually learn to work together to take down their common enemy “small minded man”
Cant wait to see how this will do compared to the old classic “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels“
