What is the Met Gala you might ask, well the Costume Institute Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is the biggest event on the fashion fundraising calendar. The Met Gala was founded by a publicist by the name of Eleanor Lambert, the benefit was first held in 1948 to encourage donations from New York’s High societies. In its modern incarceration, the most famous faces from the realms of fashion, film, music and art come together to raise money for the Met’s Costume Institute and celebrate the grand opening of its latest exhibition.
The night itself is centred on the theme of the new exhibition, with previous themes encompassing everything from Heavenly Bodies, Fashion, the Catholic Imagination, Manus X Machina, Punk: Chaos to Couture, just to name a few, this year’s theme at the exhibition is Camp: Notes on Fashion.
As one of the biggest red-carpet events in the world, the Met Gala is a huge international platform for both the celebrities that attend and the designers who dress them, so hours of painstaking preparation go into the creation of each look. Priyanka Chopra was one of the guests invited to attend and she went for a dress by Dior for the occasion.
Priyanka Chopra arrived on the arm of new husband Nick Jonas wearing a dramatic caged dress with cascading rainbow feathered skirt and Cape, this was in line with the 2019’s theme of Camp: Notes of Fashion.
Priyanka Chopra’s dress, the caged bodice of the dress to be exact was created from tulle and silver horsehair and a team of ten petites mains worked on the dress for a total of one thousand and five hundred hours.
Her look was finished with an incredible Dior Haute Couture palladium crown which sat atop Chopra’s teased voluminous curls.

The Pixel 3a and larger 3a XL will cost £399 and £469 respectively which works out at half the price of the seven-month-old Pixel 3 original, thereby making them more affordable.
EU negotiators foul mouthed rant at Theresa May revealed, top figures in the EU were filmed making disparaging remarks about the Theresa May and her Brexit strategy as part of a new BBC documentary on the talks between Britain and the EU. One of the EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier was recorded discussing the state of the negotiations with a Guy Verhofstadt and insisting the UK should have sent someone more stable, available and reliable to conduct the talks as the arch federalist joked, the EU could not ask much of Britain. Mr Verhofstadt’s top aide Guillaume McLaughlin was filmed as he delivered a foul-mouthed attack on prime minister Theresa May, branding her “pathetic and insane”
