FAQs (Dental Treatments)

Can temporarily prosthesis be attached to the implants?

It is sometimes possible to insert a temporary prosthesis on the implant immediately after implant placement.

What are the risks and contraindications in dental implant application?

If applied by experienced dentists, dental implants do not pose a significant risk or the risks that may occur can be minimized.

As with all surgical interventions, there may be a risk of infection and therefore a prophylactic antibiotic treatment is given to the patient.

Loss of implant may be seen in smokers and those who overuse their teeth during sleep (bruxism).

As in every surgical procedure, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic renal failure, some heart diseases, recent radiotherapy or chemotherapy applications, haemophilia, multiple sclerosis, syphilis, coagulation disorders, unbalanced physical or mental disorders are the main contraindications.

What is a temporary crown and what are its risks?

A temporary or permanent crown or bridge (prosthesis) can be attached to a dental implant. If the implant is stable in the bone and the crown or bridge to be placed on it does not block the other teeth when the patient closes the mouth, it can be placed immediately on the implant. However, due to the increased risk of loss of implant, it is not preferred and it would be better to wait 3 months for the implant to be fully integrated in the bone.

Is the placement of the dental implant painful?

Since the placement of dental implants is performed under local anaesthesia, pain is usually not felt during the procedure. However, in some cases, gingival surgery may be required, and pain may then occur. In this case, anti-inflammatory drugs are given to reduce swelling and pain.

Why should I have my dental implant in Turkey?

You have the opportunity to get much more affordable prices than the high-cost services in your own country, with minimized risks and experienced dentists in Turkey. Therefore, there is a demand from many countries. The risks that may be encountered are the same in every country and may vary from patient to patient. Meditravelist works with the best dentists to offer you the best service.

My dentist suggested me a longer treatment plan than the other patient: what could be the reason for this?

Even though it may seem like a similar treatment, it may require additional procedures that you may not be aware of because of the systemic diseases and/or the anatomical differences in the mouth region of some patients. Therefore, the duration of your treatment may vary. This does not mean that the physician is inexperienced or unaware of new developments.

I got cheaper offers from other places, what is the difference?

There are many companies offering dental treatment in Turkey. However, many of them have no specific medical experience and it is not clear what criteria they use to choose their dentists.    Meditravelist is a company established and managed by people with long-term service and academic experience in the field of health. Meditravelist aims to provide the best quality service by searching the most suitable prices and experienced dentists for your treatment.

Will I remain toothless between the placement of the dental implant and the insertion of the crown on it?

No, a temporary dental prosthesis will be placed in such a way that the implant will be fully integrated into your jaw bones and will not affect your teeth’ appearance and eating during the healing process. This recovery and integration process vary from patient to patient, but lasts about 1.5-3 months. After completion of this process, a permanent crown or bridge will be installed.

How much will the entire implant and crowns or bridges cost?

In order to calculate the exact cost, we will need to see your panoramic X-ray. You can see a roughly price on our web page: however, due to the special procedures of some patients, this price may vary. We recommend that you contact us with your panoramic x-ray film. After contacting us, we will meet with our experienced dentist and provide the necessary cost calculation by taking your satisfaction to the forefront. We guarantee that the price we offer will be much more affordable than in your own country.

How many types of dental prostheses are there?

There are two basic ways to restore a tooth’s appearance and function. The first one can easily be removed and reinserted, and the second one is firmly fixed in the mouth.

How long does the dental implant treatment take?

Depending on your condition, the treatment can take 1.5-6 months.
