With the DHI method, extracted hair follicles from the donor area are directly planted one by one in the microchannels opened in the recipient thinning area with a DHI patented tool which is a pen-like device consisted of a micromotor and a hollow needle.
Although the DHI method looks like the FUE method, there are some differences:
1) Extracted hair follicles are immediately planted in the recipient area and therefore they are only kept outside of the body for a very short time.
2) They are easily planted among the hair strands in the thinning area. However, despite the advantages of this method, there are also disadvantages compared to the FUE method. This method takes a longer time to apply than the FUE method and this affects adversely the cost of the DHI method. In addition, the experience of DHI team is crucial for the success of hair implantation. With the DHI method, the implanted hair continues to grow throughout life and does not fall out.
